Mere of Dead Men

A swamp in the Sword Coast. It’s south of Leilon and north of Thornhold. The Mere is magical in nature. The High Road bounds it. There’s been an attempt in the past to move the Road East, so as to not be so close to this Death-Swamp, but that only seemed to move the Swamp’s borders outward. The Mere is absolutely massive in size, trailing the coast from Leilon about halfway to Waterdeep. It’s full of trees, roots, vines and quicksands, in an area that’s more like a shallow archipelago than walkable land. It’s covered in fog and it’s residents are… Generally Unwelcoming.
