High Road Woods South of Leilon 

Campaign: All Hail Gek!
Location: High Road South of Leilon, North of the Mere of Dead Men

This forest is the final stretch of High Road to Leilon. It’s after the Mere of Dead Men, so the worst is decidedly over when you get here. The forest is quaint and quiet. Perhaps a little too quiet, if you’re the paranoid type…



Roadside Ambush part 1:

The Map is a relatively straight road. Draw at least two trees, with a rope being tied between them.

You spot a Goblin on the road, she is animatedly talking to a Human(?), who appears to be tying a rope to the tree. Wait.. Upon closer inspection, it’s not one Human, but two Kobolds stood on top of each other. With its tiny arms, the upper one is struggling to tie the rope around a tree that’s a little too big for the purpose. The angry Goblins shouts of ‘encouragement’ are probably not helping him either. The Goblin mention that some Gek put it in charge.

Because they’re so busy, they haven’t seen the Party yet.

Encounter:

2 Kobold Warrior
1 Goblin Warrior

They can be surprised quite easily
One of the Kobolds will fall prone if the pair is attacked while they are stood on top of each other
This group of enemies does not get along well.

Looting the Goblin finds a Horned Skull Trinket made of metal.

Roadside Ambush Part 2:

The Map is a road with a bend, which you cannot see around.

The Party hears noises: A Horse in Gallop, Hits of the Whip, Shouts of Encouragement and the Creaking of a Wooden Cart, moving too rapidly across an uneven Road. Whatever it is, it’s fast approaching.

O1: Stay

A cart, drawn by two horses, with a dwarf (Gundren Rockseeker) urging them on surges across the bend. He barely manages to stop before hitting the party. He invites the Party aboard, so he can keep moving before he gets caught.

Before the offer can be accepted, his outreached hand gets hit by a rock from a Kobold Sling. They’re already here!

Encounter

2 Kobold Warrior
1 Kobold Warrior with a Sling.

Only the 2 Kobold Warriors will take their turn this round; the first one already hit Gundren
Another Kobold may reinforce the enemy at the end of the round
Sildar Hallwinter will reinforce the Party at the start of the second round

Sildar is a tough Fighter and should be able to carry the fight.

Post-Combat

The Dwarf will thank the Party. He will quickly write a note, which he says to deliver to Dusty Gnome Tavern in Leilon. He doesn’t want to stick around and sets off pretty much immediately.

Handing this letter in at the Dusty Gnome Tavern gets the party some goodwill and Food/Boarding for a night.

O2: Avoid

A cart, drawn by two horses, with a dwarf (Gundren Rockseeker) urging them on surges across the bend. A large group of Kobolds is running after them. Considering how you left the rope situation, I’m sure this will be fine…
